Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey guys,

I am looking for a monitor for photography. I am looking at the Dell U2711 and U2410 and both seem to have great reviews. Which monitor would you recommend? Or would you recommend another one? I currently can't justify spending $1,000+++ on an Eizo or similar monitors.

I do mainly landscape photography is this makes any difference.

Will these monitors calibrate with a Spyder 3 Elite? I heard that I need to use ColorEyes to calibrate Dell monitors.

This will be used as a second display for my MBP.

Thanks in advance!
Kevin

Is the monitor exclusive to photography? Is your photography destined for high quality prints? The U2410 is a wide gamut display. This has implications for how you need to edit photos, what software you can use, etc. Read this thread for some info on the monitor: http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/...nitor-hp-zr24w-vs-dell-u2410-photography.html This one too: http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/...nec-multisync-2490wuxi2-bk-24-widescreen.html it even has an example of the kind of problems you can see.

As for the monitor quality, both Dell screens have IPS panels, both have wide gamut panels, and yet on the one side you say you don't want to spend $1000+ on a monitor, and on the other you're looking at the U2710 which has an RRP of $1099?

If you do have that kind of a budget have a look at the NEC 2490WUXI-2Bk

Thanks. People recommended the NEC PA241W. I'm gonna check that out.
