Mono Pods?

I bought my monopod at wal-mart of all places. It was under $20.00 and I have used it hundreds of times and never had a problem.

I think monopods are always good to have around.. they fall in all sorts of price ranges and are very handy to have around. lighter, easier, and more maneuverable than tripods....

I use the gitzo monotrek for hikes with lighter equipment and the manfrotto neotec one for heavier.

I've only used one monopod and it was a cheap one that came from a tripod that you were able to remove the center section and telescope it. It was really shaky and unstable. If you get one make sure you get good quality

Well I bought one this morning along with my new 50-500 mm Sigma F4-6.3 APO DG. and it is very stable Monopod. I tried out a few and ended up with a Giottos Monopod. They let me try it out with the Sigma lens and my Canon 40D. It was the most secure and I felt suited my needs, they gave me a $50.00 head with it, it is still in the box but it was the head I wanted for that particular Monopod. Very sturdy and good price with the free head. I already have a great Manftotto tripod already.
