The heavy lens thread got me to thinking maybe I should look for a better monopod. I have a great carbon fiber one, but for sports I am up and down constantly.
My tripod has an auto leg release. If I am standing up and all of a sudden want to drop all of the way to the floor it's only a twist of the collar and down to the floor I go. It's awesome, but not feasible for on the fields unless I got it all terrain tires or something too.
Is there such a thing in a monopod? With a release at the collar that would allow me to drop to the minimum height with just a twist like that?
