Montana Barn

From my recent trip out west. Was like everywhere I turn there was a shot. Still sorting threw 100's and 100's of pics.

I am no expert but my opinion is that you are too far away from the subject and causes it to sort of blend in with the foreground and the trees that are on the right of the barn house. Also that huge tree is very distracting.

I like the picture, the mountains are a wonderful site. I have a thing for old things too, the shack is a nice capture

Nice shot but it's a shame you couldn't get up on the rise in front more, to give more of the barn a chance in the shot. Looks like a great place to be though.

Or you could do a crop and a bit more work on the details - power lines, bird, cloud and sky structure, and other rooftop.

Cenote, where were you at in Montana? I would have just went in a little closer on the shot, but I really like it. I think the tree adds to the shot as well.

Of course you could crop, but much of this shot is the beautiful scenery and you'd lose that. For me the barn is part of the scenery, not the other way around. I have to say, I wasn't impressed until I viewed it big. Now I am. Don't lose that big cedar(?)

Then, he needs to change the title...Montana Vista. I went with the title.

That's not a Montana barn. It needs to lean to one side (originally from Bozeman)

The barn isn't featured and the sky looks overprocessed. Compositionally the placement of the barn in the center and the horizon in the center is uninteresting. The sky doesn't add to the image.

I agree about cropping it, although I would have taken more off the bottom and less out of the sky. I get that it's a scenic and the surroundings are of interest as well (perhaps even as much as the barn), but I just don't think the grass that occupies almost half the frame is all that interesting.

Apparently you haven't seen my avatar... There's no hiding anything up there.

I just tell everyone it's a solar panel for a sex machine...

But, back to Montana. I like the layered look the grassy knoll gives. You have the brown grass, then the pine woods followed by the mountains. I suppose it's a matter of taste.
