nice colors in the first one.... you might be able to crop a little bit off the bottom, seems like a little bit of dead space to me

Great shots! For the most part I like the colors in both photos. Although I do think the sun came out a bit overexposed in the first one, IMHO. It has the effect of lost detail in the area around the sun, as well as a bit too much darkening of the ocean and beach. But I do like the reflection the sun makes in the area where the water is receeding from.
I really like the second one for some reason. I especially like the way the guy is shilouetted and the kite is in full color. However, the photo does seem a tad bit underexposed. But all of this is just my opinion, and I still think they're both quite good overall.
