I was wondering what kind of lens and settings should I use to make this kind of pics?

He stated he put his camera lens in the viewfinder of a telescope. As far as settings, it's best to use trial and error and use your histogram as a guide.

I shot this with a 300mm and 1.7TC. The settings are listed with the image.

Do a search on member astrostu. He has a lot of info on celestial photography.
