Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Here are 5 other photos that I have taken. What could I have done better? All I have at the moment is a digital point and shoot type camera ( sony cyber shot) and I am hoping to buy a good quality digital SLR in the next couple of months. I guess i'm curious about my composition, editing, etc.

#1 intersting concept, lots of noise throughout the image especially around the subjects. Conceptually I like it, the technical implementation not so much.

#2 I like this as a BW abstract

#3 I think this works quite well in BW

#4 OOF, odd looking

#5 scene is too busy.. I'd hug the crop closer on the subject/sun, and clone out distractions in the background, noticed your photos are Not ok to edit, if you want to see what I'd do with it then I will post my edit.

I like the black and white set. I think you could have used a smaller aperture in the middle one though, you lost some sharpness in the smaller water beads.

on #1 i see some sloppy blur work ar something around the people, and above the ground, and it's all im really noticing

#2 is somewhat interesting, but seems a bit soft, and could possibly be a little brighter

#3 i actually really like the composition, it has nice tones of grey, interesting shapes, and leads the eyes around to all of the right places

#4 is just plain out of focus

#5 there's just nothing really interesting with this one, my eyes are immediately drawn to the clearly processed leaves, they a unnaturally lit, and it doesn't look good

I like the B&W one somewhere towards the middle of all those, but the first one - no.

thank you all for your imput. I'm just starting with photography so I really appreciate the advice.

#1 By placing your subjects to the right, you have given them plenty of space to walk into.

#2 This leaf has real character. It is unique.

#3 Nicely composed.

#4 The edges are cut off, so our attention can be brought up closer to the center, yet we find it dark, and not in clear focus, so we are disappointed, because we cannot see the wonderful detail it must have.

#5 Remember that bright spots or areas of an image draws our attention to it. Here we are blinded by the bright sun. It takes attention away from your main subject, the boy.

Who took all the cupcake pics then?

I took the cupcake photos. I have a cupcake business and couldn't afford to have a professional photographer take them for me. Photography has always been a hobby of mine and I would like to learn more techniques to become better. That's why I posted my photos here and asked people to critique them.
