C&C, thanks a lot!!

I recently purchased the book Understanding Exposure, recommended by some of you here....I am hoping that with time and practice I'll learn and get better...

As far as have a 'good eye' for it, not sure...would appreciate any kind of opinion....

The first picture I believe I used the software to fix color a bit.

I really like the first one. I like the what seems to be a huge city in the center under the wing. It gives a nice sense of scale and its amazing how small it is from the airplane yet how big that city is when your standing in the street. Great shot.

hmmm i like the first post picture concept better but there is no reflection on this one which makes it better....and the tree pic i like i had one very similar a while back that i had a lot of fun with you have a slight flaring mid picture it looks like but other than that great colors in the sky i like it

Thanks guys. I do like this first one as well. It is Chicago downtown, just took about 3 weeks ago when on a plane to Brasil

Yes. I think you are on the way.
Looks good what I see.
In what way did you have to colour correct your photo out of the plane window? Was it even bluer? I usually get very blue pics by the plane windows and have to shift the colours towards more yellow...
And I am proud at myself: I recognised Chicago for what it is without having read your answer, and did a little Whoop! of joy when I found my assumption proved.

The second is a nice play with aperture (small) and shooting-in-to-the-light, but I'd crop out the tops of the far away trees at the bottom and the power lines.
