Okay, so I had a little help with the reflector and getting the focus on the eyes, but I used the remove to fire the shutter, so they are still MY images. (I guess I'm the monkey that stole my daughters images, lol.)

Question: With our without glasses.

with glasses, chin down a bit and they both seem a bit overprocessed... why that greenery in the bg?

Thanks Maria. I will try it with the chin down some, was trying to "thin" out the neck and avoid a double chin. I just like the green vine growing on the fence, so I set up there, I could do it with just a plain brown fence in the bg. I was trying to get it OOF enough that it wasn't distracting.

well... if it counts, you're far better at selfies than I am ;)

Can't remember who, some actress said "when I wear glasses my IQ goes up 20 points"

I suppose the question is what is the photo for?

You did a good job of having minimal reflection in the glasses. Peter Hurley recommends moving your head forward slightly to improve the jaw line. Opened into separate windows the photos both look much better than the smaller version in the thread. The no glasses one looks more friendly while the glasses one looks more thoughtful. Chin down a little, head forward a little, might help. A cleaner background might help too.

Thanks cameraclicker, these aren't for anything super professional. It's for practice and to use as avatars and profiles for online presence. The reflection in the glasses is from the reflector and not the flash. I have figured out that you can minimize that by short lighting the face with the flash. I would rather have the reflector in the glasses than the speedlight flash.

........ was trying to "thin" out the neck and avoid a double chin. ......
Try pushing the chin forward slightly, regardless of vertical position, and at the same time pull your ears towards the back of your head.

I think I like the one with the glasses better, personally. I'd try no green on the fence next round.. chin forward and down like mentioned. I don't know if its just the processing or not but I find the catchlights kinda crazy for some reason? Skin tone looks to be on the red side also. I think you're heading a good direction though!!

Chin out, chin down! ;) Other than that, I think these are well done.

Thanks all. So just to make sure that I got this, I need to schedule an appointment with a plastic surgeon to get some work done on my chin and I'm good.

Oh and Bonnie, I was outside in the 90+ degree heat, so I was a little red and sweaty.

Pshhhh excuses! I'm in the desert of Arizona.. its 110-120 all summer. lol 90 is sweater weather here!

Somehow I like the one without the glasses as your mouth is slightly upturned in a smiley kinda way, how about trying glasses and that little almost-smile the next time round?

Thanks for sharing!

Do you wear glasses normally? If so, that's the one I'd go with. I bet you do, as the one without them you look to be straining a little. Good job!

Yeah, I know Bonnie but it's been a mild summer here with very few 100 degree days.

Thanks, I will do that next time I have my glasses on.

No Snerd, I usually wear contacts. I was straining because I took the glasses off and didn't have the contacts in.
