It might be still a blanket of white outside but some of the seeds I've planted are sprouting

Yay!!
This is some dew on the Cat Grass taken with my old 50mm and freelensing a magnifier, this gives a super narrow DOF. I like how it looks like a pencil sketch after the conversion

I think the DoF is too narrow. I can't tell where it's actually focused.

I think the focus is about center of the bottom drop behind the edge of the blade. Playing with this setup is not so much about a large amount in focus but the quality of what is oof I suppose because the dof is shallow at all stops.

I like it and don't really think anything should be changed. It's a different look than what's typically considered "correct" but you know I love this kind of thing

What kind of magnifier did you use?

It says Bell and Howell 16mm 2 in F 1.2.

Cool! Here's something you might be interested in: Amazon.com: American Educational 6 Piece Glass Lens Set: Industrial & Scientific

Maybe not those specific lenses, I'm finding they need to be a bit bigger - same kind of effect.

Oh neat! I'm always on the lookout for lenses, I have a 5x and 10x and 20x magnifying glasses that I play with, convex and concave would be wayyyy cool

I'll keep them in mind for sure.
