Ha! Love the silhouette with the squirrel. #3 is a beast, almost vulture like. Awesome photo set. =]

I too chuckled when I saw that squirrels stance! Nice set. The morning light is very nice.

I love #1! Don’t you love that lens?!

Thanks everyone! Loved the squirrel, too. I'm loving the lens but I'd forgotten that the lens, like most, is sharpest @ two f/stops above the largest aperture which would be F/2.2 and I was shooting at f/6.3 and f/8. I'm dying to see what it can do with flowers close up at f/2.2.

That's a pretty impressive set with such a short lens. Nicely composed too;)

Nicely done with the silhouettes. The colors in that are great too.

Thanks guys and agreed, SF, any further out may've been too much, I had to crop to get some of those. I appreciate the comments.

Decent shots, though you've got some funky stuff going on with the tree branches in 3,4 and 5. Looks like a local adjustment that's been taken too far and your brush was too big and spilled over to the sky

I see what you're saying, the dark halo around the branches. I saw it too and it bothered me but I put them up anyway. Why, I don't know but I just went back to see what caused it and I knew I didn't do any brushing so it wasn't that, the original pic itself was under exposed or so I thought (I should've left it alone) so when I increased the exposure in editing the ring started to appear. I have my settings to increase the mid-tones and contrast a little and that just made the dark halo more pronounced. I gotta watch my exposures better. Thanks for pointing it out, I appreciate it.

I didn't notice that earlier when viewing on my fone. I see it now tho.

I often shoot wide with the subject centered and compose with the crop but not always. Sometimes I just crop and keep the subject centered for attention. :1398:

Aye, that's exactly what I generally do to be honest and crop and compose to my liking later. I have a massive ego so also crave attention:biggrinangelA::D;)

Yeah, that's it mate. It's produced a lot of unnatural grey in the branches too, I guess that mid-tone adjustment bled over somehow into the sky nearby as well. Your original exposure looks pretty good to me, the birds are lit well and I like the shadow/light contrast. Good work with the 50mm.
