Morning Photo Walk - Origianl & B/W for C&C

You've killed all the useful EXIF data but I can tell you that I feel the DOF is too shallow...or maybe the whole this is OOF? I can't decide...

Because you're shooting into the sun, nothing is correctly exposed. The sunset is overexposed and the subject is underexposed. You should pick one or the other or do some exposure blending.

Also, the background is very busy... is that a bridge? I just think there is a lot in this shot that you could have left out.

I can't tell what's in focus. Is it that piece of wire?

That would be my confusion as well. I can't tell if just the very tip of the wire is in focus, or if the whole picture is OOF. I'm leaning towards the second due to shooting into the sun...

You've killed all the useful EXIF data.............

OP didn't. Flickr did.

FlickR has never removed any of my EXIF data. Is that something you can disable other people seeing? All I see via FlickR is this:
Exif data

Image Width1024
Image Height683
Bit Depth 8
Color Type RGB
Compression Deflate/Inflate
Filter Adaptive
Interlace Noninterlaced
Software Adobe ImageReady

You can disable sharing EXIF info on your flikr settings. :)

Hmmm. So then OP did kill it!

I can't for the life of me come up with a reason you would care whether people know what focal length, aperture, etc a particular picture was taken at...

Well, I "thought" the focus was right as the wire hits the post. I see the background blown out and all the "busy" stuff, but I thought the focus was one thing I got right :) But I posted because I wanted other's thoughts.

Thanks for those by the way.

And according to my FlickR settings, I do NOT have the EXIF settings OFF. I think they were "killed" when I resized the image in Photoshop. I usually don't do that, I don't think I grabbed the original to upload.

What's the story? What's the subject? What's the feel? I don't get anything but a random shot. Think about what you're trying to say or portray. Just because it looks interesting to the eye in context of your reality doesn't necessarily make it a good photo.

I am going to take note of your comments. For the record, I am not saying this is the best shot I ever took in my whole life, not even saying it's a good shot. I just wanted to know what others thought of it, how it turned out since hitting the shutter button.

Thanks everyone for your input, I do take it and try and learn from it for sure.

Yes, that is a bridge. I guess I am curious what would make a good background? Maybe I could have taken the shot facing another direction? Away from the sun, over the river directly to the left of shot?

Thanks for input.
