Not the best picture in the world, had to crop/zoom the heck in post to get this look. didn't have my zoom, just my trusty 50 prime. But love the "story" of the pic.

I think you might have lost some of the strength of this image if you'd zoomed in. If you'd shot at 2-300mm it would be another "Oh look, a turtle" shot, but now it's a pleasant, tranquil scene that you look at and go, "Oh cool, there's a turtle on that log!"
