Why wait till winter when you can ride your sled on water? ;-)

The first pics are from the main competition whereby people got points for the number of buoys they passed during two qualifying rounds, then there were eliminations. Many people sank but many also made it all the way round the course, to the delight of the crowd :)

Then there was a big jump competition which saw the world record unofficially broken, it was, as far as we know, 23 metres but one guy successfully landed 27 metres.

Some of the pics are a bit soft towards the end due to poor lighting/high ISO/noise reduction.

C&C as always welcome ...

1 - "nybörjare" is Swedish for "beginner" ;-)

Looks like a gas!!!

Those guys jumping are a few bricks short of a load though!!

I don't like accidentally going over open water on a sled, let alone jumping into it!!

Cheers

I like 12 but I think it would look cool if the sled and rider were darker (like a silhouette)
I love 22!! There's an even down the road from my house they do every year where they do this as well as grass dragging. Been going for close to 10 years now. I love snowmobiling!!

It doesn't matter if they sink them (which they often do ....) they just pull them out, dry them out, and try again ;)

I actually wondered if the dark ones would be better even darker, like a silouette, might have to try that later :)
