A lot of times, finding the humorous or dramatic is more a case of understand the ways of certain animals. I'll cede that other than birds and squirrels, I'm not much of a predictor of behavior but some of their antics you can make book on. Great Egrets hate to share a fishing area so if another flies in, he'll often get chased right back out and they can get pretty nasty. Same goes with Great Blue Herons though they're a bit more amicable unless it's breeding season, then they too can get pretty nasty. Pelicans are much like eagles; Pelicans are bullies in that they'll just land among a gathering of other, smaller birds (generally gulls) and bowl them over if they don't move. Gulls are fast learners as you can see in the above image. Pelicans will also steal from one another at the drop of a hat. So, when I see these patterns in the making, my camera is at the ready. Sometimes, I get lucky.
.BD, thanks for the information - there are bullies in every world. I will be in Florida this April, so I will keep this in mind.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and photographically eventful New Year.
