Moving Thumbs in Lightroom?

Hi All,
In the Develop tab of lightroom, there is a row of thumbnails down the bottom of the screen.

I've assigned different star ratings to the photos there and have filtered them for just the 5 Star images. Now I want to move some of the thumbs so they're ordered differently. But I can't drag them.

Now the weird thing is, I've dragged them before, but it must have been under different conditions.

I've tried with the filter on and off, no ratings at all. But it just seems to depend on the folder i'm using. coz in other folders I can move whatever photo I want wherever, and it doesn't matter what filters I have on.

Any ideas?

ok this is weird. I just went back to lightroom and tried again (after fiddling around with it in a folder that did let me drag thumbs) and it worked!
How weird. Now I'm thoroughly confused.

What's going on? oh and btw, I'm using Lightroom 1.1 on this computer... i know I know... I just haven't upgraded it. Maybe that's the problem?
