I was hoping to get a few astro photo's in, however the cloud cover was going to obscure all the stars. So had to settle on these:

I don't like the clouds. I'd rather toss on an ND 1000 and let the camera sit for ten minutes so the clouds are smooth.

Also, I liked coloring and drawing when I was a kid, so I always wanted to get every Crayola color pencil pack (much like how now I want to get every lens and filter ever made for my camera). There were things like 24 colors packs, 48 colors packs, 96 colors packs, etc. They even had white ones - who ever used the white color pencil? And then there were these special color packs. This photo looks like it was drawn with one of the Easter-themed packs. I'd like to see less cheerful colors and more serious ones. This is not a criticism, It's just what I first thought of when I saw this photo.

I have been quite busy the last few days and came in for a check.

It always amazes me that you have someone who thinks it is quite clever to come up with these analogies or thinks that they have to respond to every picture or post. I am or rather was of the opinion that this site was a place to get some comments or advise, and by comments and advise I would have thought it would have been constructive comments. Well at the very least I would interpret comments and advise as constructive if it is provided in such a manner. Either the comment entered are meant to be controversial or it is truly a sense of being an a$$hole. e.g. Comments like on another post e.g. "One day... when I understand your photos that so many people seem to get, I will pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate"

The above does tell me, that you think your opinion actually matters, when in fact all you can provide is some kind of perceived "sassy" comment or perhaps perceived "clever" commentary. I will therefore in the future, before I even take a photo, or perhaps I will take the photo, send it you first to get your opinion agp. I want to make sure that my photo's are good enough for you. I dont want to have you feel like you have to poke your eyes out when your looking at my photos.

It is actually quite easy to see why you have not made many friends. You my friend (not that you are my friend, and would not consider you as a friend with a cr@p attitude like that... read that as troll) can go get shafted.

This has nothing to do with me being clever or not. It is on you to take liberty to feel offended when I simply shared a jovial story of what your pics remind me of; and you took that liberty and ran with it. I had clearly stated in my original post that what I wrote was "not a criticism, but simply what I first thought of".

I'll stop sharing my stories. I'll just second mmaria and say:

"I don't like the colors".

And since you bothered researching all my posts and love my stories, let me share the story behind the one you quoted me on - I did not understand the picture. And I don't think I will. Maybe I don't have the artistic brain. But at least I like the colors.

I wont respond anymore after this. You obviously don't understand the concept of constructive criticism vs sarcasm or for that matter sarcastic criticism. I fully understand and appreciate that in today's society we tend to think that we can say and do things without having to face the consequences as we can hide away from the online world.

I fully believe and was under the impression that these forums were there to learn, and gain advice from your peers. By peers I mean a person who is equal to another in abilities, qualifications or exceeds the abilities or has higher qualifications. I no way am I am implying I am better than you, or anyone else. For that matter most of the people on here, I think are doing photography as a hobby, and for those who do it professionally I would yet again assume they have higher qualifications or abilities than us mere weekend photographers.

The bottom line is sarcastic criticism isn't constructive. By indicating you dont like the colours is fine. But going in so far as actually getting nasty in your comments is going over the line. Crayons, seriously!!!!!! and ""One day... when I understand your photos that so many people seem to get, I will pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate"

In your so called stories, your opinions and how you convey them is not allowing the fellow posters here to feel self confident, or even for that matter allowing us mere mortals to feel as if we are moving in the right direction with photography. How on earth is comments like that actually helping anyone? That was a rethorical question!!!!!!

This type of attitude will eventually cause people to shy away from someone who is overly opinionated. Constantly voicing their opinions and posting can cause the individual to lose credibility with others.

Constructive criticism is supposed to be given out of concern to move the other person to improve, not make them feel like they are worthless (I need to be clear here, I dont mind the negative, e.g. dont like the colours that is a matter of opinion). But reading some of your other posts, and seeing how often you just post for the sake of posting.

The colors don't bug me but the clouds do. dont give up and please do keep posting on this site some of us are more willing to help without the sarcasm :-D

Thank you yagiggle. That is all it is about. Helping and guiding. It was a first attempt at something new I was trying which in all likelihood I will try again, but differently.

Differently keep trying that's how we all improve ;-) they say your first 10,000 photos are rubbish lol im upto about 8,000 so soon i hope mine are up to the standards that some users expect on this forum.
