Got the 50mm f1.8 prime the other day so thought i'd take the obligatory 'pet' shots to try it out (you know your pet really wants it anyway).

Lol. He/she looks VERY skeptical in the first shot.
 
yeah he can be quite characterful at times - not the sharpest of shots though.

Which makes sense. Lenses are usually sharpest a couple stops down from their widest aperture.
 
Yup, but you know how it is, it's the fastest lens i've ever had so i had to try the DOF.. can't blame me.

OMG he's gorgeous!
What kind of hound is he?
Has similar expressions to my black and tan coonhound. He sleeps upside down like that and makes the same droopy faces!
 
Yeah i don't know why they like being upside down so much!

He's a German Short-Haired Pointer.. chocolaty, rusty, dark brown colour sort of thing.
 
#3 really stands out to me, i love the sense of depth.
His droopy lips on the floor really add to it also, makes me think of how dogs are usually portrayed in cartoons
