One more suggestion. Do try a graded paper if you're looking for more pop without losing detail. I've only ever used Kodak papers, but found I could get a much better tonal range from #'s 2 or 3 graded papers compared to the VC ones. The difference wasn't even debatable.
 
^^ We were instructed to use ilford multigrade FB b/c of the chemistry & dryer in my photo lab.

I'm gonna try my best to follow everyones suggestion so that my prints have better contrast and overall tone.
