dust dragged? the lens was clean...and it's not on any of my other pics...hmmm.

Inside the camera I meant. I had it happen to me on a set of shots I did and four from that morning mine were more dark but out of a slew of 150 shots I only had 4 that it showed on.
Since this is in the Beginners forum, I wanted to make sure there was no confusion. Out of focus backgrounds can be achieved in probably any of the shooting modes that your camera has. However, to substantially increase your chances, Manual or Aperture Priority are by far the easiest to use because YOU are controlling the aperture, not the camera.So, I took these in Shutter Priority instead of Manual.......

Not sure but that would be my guess. On your next set, pay close attention to that place on your images and see if its still there. If not then I wouldnt worry.
About your camera that is. I would still be worried about them damn nasty jumping spiders. You poor thing.:hugs:
