Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I just went out on christmas eve and tried to take some Bokeh Shots but it just didn't turn out as I imagined it would, suggestions and comments that will help me improve are very much welcomed and appreciated :)

Photos were taken with EF 50mm f/1.8 II

#1 Your pine cone is over exposed and the color from the background is distracting. I don't know what settings you used but you could try using an ISO 100 setting to tame the light a bit. I like #2. I'm not sure what it is but I like the colors.

seeing that you shot with a 50mm 1.8 . with your aperture on 1.8 and ISO at 200 on the first shot.

I would go back to that pine cone (if you can) and drop the ISO to 100. see what you get as a result. And if your not satisfied tryto jump up you aperture a little. and see what you get.

2nd photo. your ISO is fine being set to 100. But maybe fixing your focus? And maybe putting it on the light in the center maybe?

3rd. Just a bark on a tree. I think i get where you were trying to go with it, but idk.. I think the focus should be more on the light

Just my opinion

Hope this helps,

Seems like you got some problems with Focusing
Pretty cool ideas but not really satisfying results I think

I think the depth-of-field is too shallow on all three. As a result there are no clearly defined focus areas.

My personal thought on Bokeh is that it can be too much of a good thing. Unless used as part of a compositional element or to isolate the subject from the background, I don't rate bokeh in itself all that high. I think it's a over-used cliche in photography.
