My candid shots

I've been learning and shooting for about a year with D5100 and 35mm 1.8 and 17-55mm 3.5-5.6.
Here are some of my shots I've taken. Any C&C will be much appreciated

No 1 - why have you chosen your model to stand with his back to the sun? His face is in shadow. It is a photo of a boy's back, really. And I can not see anything interesting on his back... There is a lot of unnesessary space above his head as well. I do not like the background behind his head - it is 2 different backgrounds to the left and to the right - does not look well. It should be much tighter, and yet I have a feeling that this image was cropped heavily.
No 2 - the horizon is tilted and as a result a tall man is hanging over his bride who serves as a support, but for some reason is still smiling. It looks like, had she stepped aside, her broom would fall. What does it all say about the man and the future family? And look again at the guy - is he having and erection? Ridiculous, really.
No 3 - A dummy in the kid's mouth outside a bed/sleeping time is an indication that parents do not know what they are doing. I can say it as a father of three. It says a lot about a family, believe me. When you shoot kids, try to get to the eye level. Especially if they are on the swing. I do not like the composition either. The kid looks like being confined in a very tight space and those metal things above the head are not nesessary here at all. Againd, no consideration for the light whatsoever. Lots of distractions in the background - all those strong shadow lines... DoF is too wide.

All in all it looks like casual snapshots with not much thought put into it. Sorry for the harsh criticisim, but you, apparently, have selected your better shots, having been learning for a year. It is a long time, I think you need to change your textbooks. There is more can be said about the images, but in my view you have to fix two major problems that you seem to have: composition amd light. As soon as you figure it out, you will improve by leaps and bounds. Buy some good books on these two subjects. And I would advise you to change your status to "OK To Edit". Then other members can show you how to improve your photos. It may help you a lot at this stage.

Thanks for your input. I see how the pics are not your cup of tea i agree that these are not candid shots, especially the wedding one. Pic 2 seemed better with the horizen tilted and models straight up than the other way. Baby pic- i bet you don't have a kid.. As you are very stereotypical about the soother. She was teething and thats when you provide it to her. Textbook advice- i will use the textbook up to extent where it doesn't hinder my creativity as I don't wanna be textbook-minded. It would be hard to think outside of box

Thanks for your input. I see how the pics are not your cup of tea i agree that these are not candid shots, especially the wedding one. Pic 2 seemed better with the horizen tilted and models straight up than the other way. Baby pic- i bet you don't have a kid.. As you are very stereotypical about the soother. She was teething and thats when you provide it to a baby. The 1st pic- i intentionally shot his back to compare bright city lights and his lonely existence not being a part of it. Textbook advice- i will use the textbook up to extent where it doesn't hinder my creativity as I don't wanna be textbook-minded. It would be hard to think outside of box

dao - to be able to see outside of the box, you first need to have a good understanding of what is inside it. Your images tell me that you have a very vague idea about it. But you clearly do not want to hear what I am saying. So I will not going to argue with you.

Nevermind about the comment i made on 1st pic, i thought you were referring to the pic i uploaded in another thread. Also about the dummy, I now read that you have children. I should've read closely. I appreciate your comment. I just wanted to explain the background info
