My first attempt at Black and White

Hello,

Black and White is a total stranger to me. I don't know exactly what it is, but there is something about it that is so appealing....
From what I've seen, B&W is far more than just removing the color from a picture.
In this series I played with contrast and levels and I'd like to get your feedback.

On this one, I added a 5% Gaussian noise effect in hope to simulate grain

What do you think?

I'm not sure all of these are great candidates for the B+W treatment. It seems appropriate enough in #4 however and you haven't done too bad a job on the conversion.

I think you should research B&W to improve your shots. B&W is about tones and contrast and lighting and depth. It is about grabbing your viewers eye and reeling them into the depth and detail your pictures holds.
