MY first C+C.. looking for positive and negative criticism

All photos taken with a canon t2i, mostly kit lens, a few with the 50mm 1.8.
Just some landscape shots, etc. Please give me some advice on composition, exposure, etc.

#1 and #5 really bug me because you cut off the bench and motor. I don't know why but that has really been getting to be lately. To be honest with you though, the subjects just aren't that interesting. #2 is the best one there but the rest are pretty boring. #1 could have potential but I would have executed it differently. In #5 you should have taken the photo horizontally, and in #3 you over exposed it a bit. You could have gone a little wider in #2.

My favourite shots were 1 and 4, and agree with the bench being cropped. I would've composted number 5 very differently, horizontal and putting the boat in the left of the frame and having the lake in the right. I find the weeds on the left is not attractive and distracting. But overall I like your shots!

Composition/visualization.

First is too cluttered. The bench should have been emphasized more.
The rock is interesting ... but it seems to me that it should be cropped closer or shot wider.
Crop the dog closer.
The background kills the rope shot.
The last one, forget the boat and shore.
