Yes, the jump from an S3IS to the 7D is huge! I was told it might be disappointing in the beginning, and now I understand. Big learning curve! Spent the day reading the manual and taking terrible shots, deleting, trying again. So many settings, options and choices!! Be gentle, it's my first one that looked remotely viewable!

Lol, no, j/k it's okay. Not much to say about cat photos, but technically, the white balance looks too warm, and the composition would be better if you took a step to the left, so that the vase didn't intersect with that cat's head. Also, crop out that dark fold in the blanket on far left.
