Great shot. The B & W conversion is done well with plenty of contrast, the composition is good and the subject holds a lot of interest. If this really is the very first shot you took with a DSLR, you've pretty much nailed it.

It could possibly do with straightening, although that could just be my eyes, since the lines on the wall seem straight but the picture as a whole looks as though it leans slightly to the right.

Overall, bravo!

Thank you! I really had nothing to go on at the time except my manual. I read that thing through a few times then went out to take this for a class. I didn't get the assignment right, but I was left with an image I quite enjoy. I was never too sure if that was mostly because of the sentimental value attached to it or not. On a side note, it does seem a little off. I'll pop it into PS and put a grid on it.

Edit: Everything is definitely straight now. Idk if it really was unbalanced or not, but it looks fine with a grid over it. Perhaps the slight s curve in her body throws us off?

Luz u weren't lying...Strange how we took close to the same kind of shot and posted it here in TPF lol.

Good pic. The lines in the tunnel draw you to her.

Great picture! Good job!

I believe the reason behind that 'tilt' sensation is that it's not 100% centered. You could try cutting a small pice from the left, in order to make both walls start at the same 'height'... Not sure if I'm explaining myself correctly, so please let me know if I'm not and I'll try to rewrite it.
