My First Portrait

This was my first portrait session with my dad. tell me what you think. My scanner did a bad job, sorry.

i like the first one, but you cut off his ear and the top of his head!

I prefer your dad's expression in the first to that in the second ("the thinker"), but deplore the fact that you cropped off the top of his head and part of his ear. Light is nice and even in the first ... and the hand gives a distracting shadow in the second.

What paper are they printed on? I can see a kind of square structure in the scans (or so I think).
