My first shoot

I'm very new to photography. This actually my first photo shoot. It was just a good friend of mine that offered to model for me for practice. I'd love any suggestions or criticism you want to throw my way. I've done a couple photo shoots since, but I'm just learning right now. I know I have a long way to go and am looking forward to learning as much as I can here.

for a first set, these look pretty good.

My main critique, the jewelry, particularly the watch is rather distracting.

On three I'm not liking how the fingers are out of focus that much. Mostly because everything else is in focus, so it draws my attention to that.

i think you did a lovely job. Yeah I agree that the jewlery is a bit much. i would say keep it simple in portraits. and the focus should be spot on the subject. in the second one it looks like her hand just bends in with her shoulder. throws me off a bit looking at the picture... hope that helps?
