My Name Says it All

Hello to anyone reading this. I figured the appropriate name was "NewGuy" since I am as green as they come. Long story short, my wife and I purchased a Fuji Finepix S2950 a while back. We were out at an event and I started taking photos of my daughter and found myself really getting into it. She's 9 years old and definitely not camera shy. When we got home and looked at the photos on the computer, I was rather surprised at how nice a few of them turned out. Something lit up inside me. Not sure how to explain it.

Now I find myself reading and learning as much as I can about photography. Admittedly, I need to practice more of what I am learning, and I will!

I don't know if it's considered "Okay" to do but I dove right in and actually did a model shoot (Outdoors) just last Friday. I was nervous but the model was very sweet and actually helped me out quite a bit. I didn't really have to direct her much. Now, looking at the photos that I took, I am even more charged up about photography.

I am looking forward to learning as much as I can here and maybe make a couple of friends along the way.

Welcome to the forum, NewGuy12! There is always a lot to learn about photography. Start by posting some of your images in our Gallery section and ask for some feedback. Since you're a beginner, be prepared for some criticism and don't take offense.

You are right. I know that this is how I am going to learn and get better.

I went ahead and posted 3 images that I took Friday. I can't wait to see feedback no matter how critical it may be.
