Here is a photo of my new (to me) toy. Just picked it up tonight!

Shot with a 50mm at f/8, 1/125 with an umbrella, a SB-600 and a silver reflector. Let me know what you think!

ETA, I don't know why the pic is so small here..... the original file is bigger.......

Hmmmm.......

Perhaps a little more diffusion to control the flare on the barrel, but other than that, nicely done; I like the composition on the old brass.

I personally don't like the tight crop there, there should be much more room. And i would have like a side-view as well, the straight one doesn't seem right. Great job on the lighting though and a beautiful piece you have

I love how it has "read the ****ing manual" on the barrel. :lmao:

Looks good.

Thanks!

Most of the more modern firearms have that warning permenantly etched into them somewhere.... I agree, it is hi-freakin'-larious, but unfortunately far too few actually take the time to read it, and then go after the manufacturer when they blow their thumb off, or accidentally shoot their dog, or wife, or neighbor as a result.

Yeah, people are brilliant. :drastic eyeroll:

They need to put that on entry level camera bodies!!!!!

Why stop at the entry level bodies?

I agree that a looser crop would help make this better. It's a nice-looking revolver.

Very nice! Not sure if I'm the biggest fan of the crop, but otherwise it looks well done. :)

Do you guys realize just how much more brass I would need for a looser crop?!?

Thassalotta brass!

I agree. A looser crop would have been nicer. The only problem is lack of brass. What you see is about 200 pieces of .357 mag brass, and since I'm a reloader, that's all I really need, and never really acquire any more. I could have put a bunch of .38 spcl brass in as well, but that just wouldn't be right. Most people wouldn't know... but I would, and it would make me a sad panda.

I will take another shot when I get more .357 brass. :)

Rausch, when are you going to post pics of your "toys" ?

I would know the difference! It looks like you need to go out and actually purchase some rounds and then run them through the gun. Take the photo, and then experiment with different load setups. What's your reloading rig like? My father has a Hornady reloader with a couple of different plates that go with it. He's done some automation for it, but it's still hand operated.

I'm not buying any store bought junk for this..... with the possible exception of carry ammo for legal reasons. My setup consists of a handfull of presses for about a dozen calibers, both pistol and rifle. I have a couple of progressive presses (Dillon 550 with a half dozen conversion kits, and a dedicated .45acp Dillon square Deal), a couple of single stage rock chuckers, and even a couple of the Lee Classic Loader kits.... AKA the infamous Lee Whack-a-mole. Not to mention the large room full of accssories that are acquired with such a hobby (my soon to be wife is already trying to find a way to reloacate it....)

I've been loading or some time, and am no stranger to load development, and all of the joys that it brings. As a matter of fact, all of that brass is likely to get filled later today if all goes well............

And then emptied again tomorrow.

I agree with Davor - I would like to see it from a lower angle and/or looser crop, but it looks good!
