My new toys and a flash upgrade test to share

Well, found a surgeon on craigslist who wanted to sell a tamron 17-50 2.8 non-is and a promaster flash for a good deal. Picked it up this morning. Busy day with the little one but she's sleeping now so time to share.

Here's a pic of the setup.

Here's a cool test I did to show what a difference it can make. Wanted to share after the results kinda shocked me. All 3 are same aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Only thing I changed was the light (oh and w/b is set on auto..).

The weird shadow in the 2nd one is from the lens hood. This raised flash takes care of that issue as well.. I bounced off the ceiling, had it pointing 60 degrees up.

So if anyone was debating whether or not to upgrade their flash hopefully this helps.
