There are certain points of view (PoV) that we should not use for our pets, friends or clients. Yours happens to be one.
Perhaps next time, you could try 1) to diffuse the overhead sun or shoot at a different time of day to avoid the blown out crown and 2) add some additional lighting (via built-in flash or silver reflector to bring some life to the only eye we see, which is in deep shadow.
You could also try bringing the plant forward, open up the aperture some to try and de-emphisize the strong vertical background elements.
Pretty bird and colors.
On an aside, I recently heard a report where this organization or group in someplace USA (details are missing) where their main emphasis to to get people to adopt parrots rather than buying. And by adopt, they mean support the participating facilities that can properly care for parrots. Apparently, many people think it'd be cool to have a beautiful parrot, but do not consider the intelligence, required attention and longevity of parrots. OP, please be assured this aside is not directed towards you in any way.
