My Puppy

was out back playing with mu 6 month old rottwieler puppy and got this shot. what do you think

All around, I Like the idea of the picture, great looking dog, it just seems to me that it is just a blur, the dog, like its not focused on him, I dont think it would be worth keeping, i think you're better off trying again, on a sunny day, and a higher shutter speed, also to me it seems just a tad bit underexposed

Ajlista is right, this looks like a snapshot. Next time: sunnier, higher shutter speed, larger aperture.

Definitely try to get your hands on a copy of Lightroom as well. It's stupidly easy to use, and can really help out your images. For example:

Thanks guys, this was taken in full sun even though i was in shade. it was 104 degrees out. i have just started using lightroom but really have no idear what i am doing yet. i have only had my camera for 2 weeks now and am just beginning my journy in photography so really know very little at this time but am learning quickly.

If you can download some presets, go for that. They'll give you an idea of what Lightroom is capable of, and you'll be able to see how they did it by viewing the sliders.

You have the potential for an awesome shot, were you shooting on auto? And if not what was your f/stop, shutter, and iso?

i was shooting on the sports setting. exposure 1/800 at f/5.6 iso 250

Haha, scoody is right, start messing around with manual, read up on understanding your shutterspeed and how it coincides with your exposure, also how your f stop and iso, being manually changed can result in an overall better photo

so i played around last night in lightroom with this picture and came up with this. i think it is much better.
