first one is interesting/mysterious and I think the dramatic light works well for it, second one is nice/a bit too simple and the dramatic light feels unnecessary .

There's a cute little boy under that dim light. Brighten and correct your white balance and you'll have a winner.

Good start, but WB, exposure and cropping issues are present. I feel the course is falling short in helping you produce your very best work. My grade would have reflected that, however I would have given you the opportunity to demonstrate your proficiency again, based on what you learned from this shoot. If you were able to do that, I would have no problem eliminating the first grade and awarding you an "A" for demonstrating mastery of these concepts.
