This is my third attempt at a still life, and I have a few questions on this one also.

Obviously in this one I did something which I had purposely avoided doing in the first two, and that is, do some post processing. This is a statue of my mother's, and the bird was originally in the angel's hands. I took the bird out of her hands and pasted in a new bird, in flight. So my first question is:

Where should I place the bird? I tried placing it along the line created by the body and arms, and at a height equal to the top of the wings. But I'm not sure if that is where it should be. If anyone has another idea, I'd love to hear it.

The second question is:

Should I do anything with the background? I like it plain, but maybe there should be some sort of highlight in the background.

Third question:

How should I crop it? Should I leave more picture, or maybe less picture? Should I try to get the angel on the third line, or the bird on the upper left third spot. Not sure on this either.

And the last question is a technical question:

How does this picture look on your monitor? On my monitor it looks about right, not too dark, not too light, with just enough contrast. But when I looked at it on my sister's monitor it was way too dark. I don't know which of our monitors is closer to the true colors. I know that it's difficult to judge which of the two is correct by simply looking at your monitor, and not being able to compare them side by side. But on your monitor, is this picture too dark?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out.

Bird looks great where it is.
Don't have a suggestion for the BG.
Crop a bit off the height, using the diagonal, 2:3 format
