This is a great photo! The squirrel is super cute and it's great how you have captured the "hand" gesture. Nearly looks like he or she is about to take a bow. Great shot!

You can see why the paw might be frozen - it stayed for some time with it on a patch of snow - flicking it's tail in the "agitation" mode whilst sussing me out and then deciding to go further down the branch, negotiating a long wire down to raid the nut carrier.
