They let me practice....and they don't complain.

It doesn't get much better than that.

I tried to take a photo of my dog earlier today and anytime I pointed the camera, she'd look away.

Sometimes I just hate a dog that is that smart :(

Mine are both happy go lucky stupid. It makes my life easier.

The second my camera comes out the command sit no longer works they think they need to be on the lens for a good pic I guess, or they just want to lick it to see what it tastes like. Either way can't get good pics of them.

My parent's dog is like that. As soon as you even hint at taking her picture she's gone.

Like I said...mine are too dumb. They just stand there and look at you like in the first picture.

Or lay there and continue to almost fall asleep as you handhold your camera at arms length looking at the fold out LCD hoping you got a decent shot as in the second photo.

Ha Ha My cat is stupid and as long as he is fed he will leave you alone.

Normally, you have to train animals to sit for photographs. My dog, Cuddles, is trained for the camera. I've been working with her since about 4 weeks old (she was rescued at 2.5 weeks). She will sit, stay, look at the camera on command and now we are working on more complex poses.

So, it has nothing to do with a dog being smart or dumb, just trained for it.

OP, cute pooches. :)

Cute! Both of our cats give me a hard time. One blinks as soon as I click the shutter (even with no flash) and the other just runs and hide.

Jenko, that is a really good idea. Going to do that as soon as I can convince the boyfriend we need a dog.

My dog always looks away when ever i point my camera at him, it`s most likely because of the times i forget to disable the flash and he gets blinded :)

John.

My dogs are my models. They like being photographed. The first shot looks like you are telling the dog something. They usually tip their heads tip their heads like that when they are listening to something you are saying. That is a cute shot.
