ND filters for a newbie

Hi. I'm a newbie to photography.

I am interested in what are the go to kits for ND filters. I don't mind spending a few dollars for a decent kit. I am interested in doing longer exposures in daylight and I would also like graduated filters as well.

Tips and advise appreciated. I am using Nikon 5500 & sigma f2.8 17-50mm and I'm looking to purchase a samyang 2.8 14mm soon.

I have a cokin holder and adapter rings. I have 3x3in gel filters in holders in 1&2 stop (.6&.9) nd. It's not ideal but with a couple rings they'll work with all my lenses. I'm not familiar with your camera but I don't know why shooting at low Asa and small aperture would not give longer exposures. Is there something specific you're trying to do.

The go to filters for most is the Lee 100mm system. Cheaper than that both Formatt-Hitech and Cokin do a 100mm system as well. Kood International make some very good budget 100mm filters, at least on a par if not slightly better than Cokin and the Hitech ones but they are based in the UK (however they do international shipping).

I'm trying to smooth out water facing the sunset or sunrise. So long exposure and dark filters.
I also want some graduated filters for general landscape photography

Lee or Singh-Ray. Singh-Ray only makes graduated ND filters in 100mm. Lee for standard ND.
