Need assistance: Traffic ticket in Germany, not sure how to proceed

Anyone out there in or familiar with Bayern? It appears I have a traffic ticket, but its kind of spun out of control. I am in the US, but do plan to return to Germany. The letter I now have stresses that they will seek "forced/coercive detention" (Erzwingungshaft) for a $100 EUR ticket. I am confused, and don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help?

The only phone number I have leads me to a recording (all in German, of course) that then hangs up, so I can't get someone on the line.

Maybe try contacting the German Embassy? Best idea I have I'm afraid. Other than taking an English speaking German hostage for translation purposes.

I would check with the American Embassy here, possibly in Germany if there is one in Bayern... and as mentioned, the German embassy here in the states.

See.. that is where you screwed up! If you HAD run over Hasselhoff, they would have just given you a key to the city!

I would start with German Mission in US.

German Missions in the United States - Visa, Passport & Legal

Look under Consular Affairs and find local consulate or contact them.
This is a large mission and very efficient the only time I called them.
