Need P&S help

I am trying to help a friend find a new P&S camera. She is looking for something small, easy to use and with pretty good IQ. I am considering the Canon SD1000; Sony DSC-S800; Ricoh Caplio R7; and Panasonic FX55.

I know that the Panasonics are not great for low light, such as snaps in restaurants, which is a pretty big deal. The Sony P&S cameras seem the most user friendly to me, but I don't know much else about the newer ones.

Anyone with first hand knowledge of any of the above? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

If it's about smallness, and quality...I've seen a lot of the new Pextax P+S cameras taking some nice pics.
