Need some comments and suggestions

So first here is the photo:

My aim was to create something abstract, where you think "Whats that?"
Only Photoshop work was the color balance.

My questions:
What are the technical problems with the photo?
What is your overall impression?
What should I improve next time?
Should I have used Manual focus instead of Auto?

Tech stuff: EOS 50D, Sigma 17-70 at 70mm f/22 1/250 onboard flash, Raw

It is not interesting enough for me. One way to improve this is to put the eggs in a glass bowl. Then put the bowl on a top of different colored background... White is probably your best bet.. but experiment with different background. It may also be interesting if you put a light source from the bottom of the bowl. Just experiment! Dont take too long though.. you need to fry the eggs!

Must say they looked like tomatoes to me also when I first looked.
