Photos NOT OK to edit
Hi , i'm an amateur photographer who knows all the basics of photography and i've been practicing manual speedlite photography for two months now and i've got some good results. A friend of mine has asked me to do a photoshoot of him practicing the piano(its nothing that serious I mainly wanna practice) . As I never have done anything like it before i would like to get some guides or tips .

Equipment: Nikon d5100 + 18-105 + 50mm f/1.8 2x yangnuo 560 speedlites 2x lightstands 1 umbrella set 1 soft box

And a sample of my latest photoshoot: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

I shoot a local high school talent show. Here are some examples:

The first thing you need to do is decide what look you want: Bright, dark, dramatic... and then plan the lighting. Plan the shoot, shoot the plan! Ten photographers will have ten (at least) different ideas on how to achieve this. My vision probably wouldn't be your vision... Much easier to help out if we have an idea of the look you're going for.
