Need some help with my Nikon D300

Hi

Seem to be loosing it I can not find a setting on my D300. When i have the shutter half pressed i can not change the aperture anymore. I have o release and press again. There was a setting for aperture lock and i can not find it. Can someone fill me in ?

See pages 307/308/309 of your D300 users manual?

I'm betting it's one of the AE-L/AF-L function settings (307), but your issue is a new one on me.

The AE-L/AF-L menu page cannot display all the options at once, you have to scroll down to see them all.

Hey, you should follow up and post your solution for anyone else who might have had the same problem and came to this thread hoping to find an answer (googling, etc..).

even if i embarrass myself huh ?

It was a setting in the custom menu and i reset it. what happened was that after every shot the dial in the front for the aperture was not controlling the aperture anymore but the preview (zoom) of the photo. Could't see it as my eye was looking through the viewfinder. As soon as pressed the shutter half again the preview went off and i could use the dial again for aperture.

User error and also i haven't used the D300 for more than a year so i forgot i guess.
