Jim, I've read some good things about that lense. How do you like it?

Walt, it's a great lens. It lives on the *istD most of the time. Some people complain it's a bit soft wide open, but I shoot strictly RAW so I have to sharpen every pic anyway.

If I do my part it more than does its part. While not a macro (at least in the Pentax version) it focuses to around 14 inches, which works well for flowers etc. The Preying Mantis pic I posted last week is shot with the same lens.

I really like the bokeh this lens displays too. I wouldn't hesitiate to buy another one.
