new camera choice cannon t3i vs cannon t5

I know the t3i is an older model but this camera can be found new at a few different locations. I wanted to know if this camera would be a better buy then the t5 for the applications id like to use it for.

Primarily I want to take low light photos, high speed sports action shots and be able to blow them up to medium prints 16x20 or 24x36 maximum.

I wanna be able to take these shots but get good quality reproductions. These were test shots with my phone to see of I could capture the background where I like it

Wouldn't bother with either, if money is tight get the Nikon D3200 or Nikon D3300
Better low light performance, better Dynamic range.
Price should be close to the t3i and t5 price.

I believe OP was asking about the T5 and not the T5i
T5 is most basic/entry level DSLR Canon has today in its line while the T5i is placed higher and has more features.

Ended up purchasing nikon d3200 for 500 with 2 lenses. I thought I remembered nikon being more money so thats why I originally was shopping the cannon cameras.

Problem is my daily driver may have an issue so I hope I don't need to return the camera.

About the cannon cameras i initially mentioned, I get the t5 is most basic entry level camera now but is the old t3i still a better option?

I know 3 people who own the D3200, I got to play with it and was very impressed with it considering its price.
Its low light performance and dynamic range is very impressive, better then the old sensor on the T5, T3i and T5i

Now to be honest I am a Nikon user thus some might say I am a bit bias and maybe they are right but I wouldn't buy a Canon model bellow the very impressive Canon 7D Mk II
The sensor is just too old and its showing, its not that it cant produce good pictures, it can but Nikons Sony sensors are just better.

Wouldn't bother looking at the T5, if you need to get the Canon then I wouldn't go sub t5i which has the lovely touch screen and I believe the better AF system.
