Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello everyone! (I'm new here...so please be gentle. :blushing: )

I'm in the market for a new camera. I'm a bit torn between getting a DSLR, or a point and shoot. I do a bit of traveling and also attend concerts/events every once in a while. I know I'd like a camera with a great zoom. I'm a bit concerned that the DSLR wouldn't be as easy to travel with, or sometimes even allowed into concerts (unless I"m a member of the press)

Any suggestions would be super appreciated! There are so many options out there and it's a bit overwhelming!

Since your new, I'll cut you some slack.

But check out the search feature. This is discussed at least once a week.

Its all about budget and what you want the camera for.

Welcome!

Well a lot here will depend on budget, but if your looking to take concert pictures you'll run into a couple of issues right off the bat. The lighting at most concerts is pretty bad from a photography standpoint, and sadly most bridge cameras do not do well in bad lighting because of their small sensors. While a DSLR with it's much larger sensor does far better under such conditions, fast telephoto lenses for them are very expensive and the minute you put a fast telephoto lens on a DSLR odds are good they won't let you into a concert with it anyway, since they'll assume it's professional equipment and therefore banned from the concert venue.

Get something like a Panasonic FZ200.
The concert lighting isn't THAT bad if you learn to work with it.
I shot this in 2005 using a Canon Pro1.
