new camera

So my roommate has to use a D80 as part of his job and he let me play with it and use my non kit lens on it. really it has convinced me that i need a digital camera.
anyway, i took these just fooling around the house the other day.
shot with a 50mm 1.4 AI-S lens

I cant decide which i like better, color or B&W

If you need help in your decision on whether to prefer the colour version to the black and white one or vice versa, I would suggest you prefer the colour version (if preferences can ever be suggested to anyone at all

!?!). In shorter, easier words: I like the colour version better, seems like the swinging chords are clearer in colour.

The photo that you put up in its two different versions is the only one that really convinces me here. The first ... too much empty (blurred) space at the bottom and a too clear division in halves ... and well, insane as the DOF at f1.4 might be (and exciting upon testing it out) ... I find it too narrow (personally).

glad you like the color. I put that one up as my desktop background.
i think the insane DOF is more just interesting to me because its just so narrow, not because its a good picture.
