I like this edit better than the last one but I don't know, it just doesn't pull me in. The face is so far up into the corner I just end up staring at the feathers in dead center. Don't get me wrong, I pretty much love all "fill the frame" bird shots, but I think I'd like the color original with just a little sharpening better.

Thanks for your thoughts! I have tried the color and it just didn't work for me.

It’s clearly got some lovely detail, I don’t mind where the head is but it’s a shame about the tail.. my personal taste would have put a little more contrast into it, maybe dodge the eyes and beak a little and the plume the draw the eye up to the face. I really like the details captured in the feathers... but what do I know, i shoot landscapes and cities [emoji23]

Thank you much. I completely agree about the tail, but the angle blocked it and all you saw was a tangle of branches from the weeping ornamental it was sitting on. That's the thing with wildlife: you get what they give you.
