I was a former school photographer in Jr. and Sr. High using camera's that took actual Film. Yeah, I'm that old.

Decided I wanted a decent digital camera so I started looking. My wife saw me looking and knew I would look forever and went ahead and got me a Canon EOS Rebel T7 kit with the 18-55 and 75-300 lenses along with other items that are hit or miss for quality.

I have been learning how to set the camera up and watching a lot of Youtube videos.

I have been lurking here, reading. There is a lot of good information here so I figured I would join.

Here is a picture that I took recently in Florida that I really like. Be gentle....

I took that from a boat tour of the river that launched from Sebastian Florida.

It was very tricky to deal with the boat's movement and keeping that 300mm lens steady, especially since it has no IS.

The shot above was done at 270mm which is still pretty extended. I used the railing and pole that held the railing to help sturdy myself.

I remember the good ol' days when I learned on a Pentax K1000. You only had control over aperture and shutter speed. Well, you also controlled the film and ISO you used. Shot a lot of B&W and developed it too.

I remember when you could only get slide film and standard print film. We were so excited when they came out with 200 and 400 ISO film for everyone.

These DSLR camera's are a whole different ballgame.
