Out looking for some new spots to capture. This is an area Im going to come back to. I need to bring some proper equipment. Lenses, Filters, Time. Tons of wildlife. Water. Early morning mist. Etc...

Benicia, down by the water, looking across Carquinez Straight towards Port Costa. Both booming Gold Rush towns in their heyday.

That is a nice spot. I am still looking for something like that here in OK. Oh wait, no ocean front property here.

Hardly ocean front. But after a night of rain, everything is still and quiet. Cant wait to go back.

Great shot! I really like the location. What time of day did you shoot this?

Around 7am. Next Opportunity with the tides is on the 30th - 1st

How do you find out about the tides? I can't recall how many times I was disappointed to see there was no way I could get close to the shore...

Just looked it up. Online, or I have an APP for my phone.

When you go back there would you toss-move that white thing-paper-nylon-or else from the grass and your foreground?

Beautiful scenery, just clean it a bit :)

Ha! Yeah I saw that when I uploaded.

My eye is drawn to the misty shoreline in the distance. Do I see a small village there? It would interesting to see that.

Yep, thats Port Costa. A small town now... Back in the day, when Benicia was the capitol of California, most of Port Costa was built over the water on large piers. The largest ferryboat in the world ushered all the rail cars back and forth for years. Then they built the Railway bridge and the the entire town burned to the ground. -errr... water. All thats left is pieces of the dead pier that stick out of the water, and that small village you see in the distance... (they have a bar at the end that is very old, called the Warehouse Cafe, and they have several hundred beers from all around the world) a nice place to have a drink and step back in time...
